In a surprise move BJP announced Nirmal Nahata as Jaipur mayor candidate. Nahata who is two-time councillor won from ward 26, Civil Lines Jaipur in election 2014.
Nahata was the chairman of the compounding and compromising of offences committee in the last Jaipur MC board. Earlier Lahoti was in race for mayor candidate but at last moment BJP decided Nahata for Jaipur Nagar Nigam Mayor candidate.
